Call Your Senators and House Members And Demand They Stand With Ukraine, Not Putin - From news reports this morning it’s hard to understand where this disastrous, disgraceful Vance-Witkoff-Kushner betrayal of Ukraine lies now, but it is critical that Congress hears from us today; hears our outrage; hears our demands that they work to block the selling out of Ukraine, Europe, and the America of the Four Freedoms to Putin and global autocracy. Ask to see statements, and if they haven’t made one demand they put one out condemning Trump and his corrupt band of traitors immediately. What we have to hope for is that the negotiations slow down; Trump’s absurd deadline of this Thursday gets extended; and Witkoff and Kushner get tossed from the US negotiating team after their historic betrayal of Ukraine and the West. While Trump has done many damaging and dangerous things since he’s returned to the White House what he did last week - in part we have to believe to change the subject from his epic Epstein repudiation and humiliation - this rancid embrace of Putin and shiving of Ukraine and Europe is in my mind the most destructive and dangerous thing he’s done. It is why we must make our calls today. Trump has been rebuked in recent weeks in Congress on his tariffs and his own ongoing rancid Epstein cover up; the American people rebuked him in the November elections; now we must rebuke him on his outrageous appeasement of Putin and the selling out of Ukraine, Europe and America itself. Republicans Are Coming To Realize That Trump Is A Sundowning Lame Duck And A Titanic Fuck Up - I’m angry today, really, really angry. This Ukraine thing was beyond the pale even for Trump. For time and space reasons I will not able to get all this down today but I think we are at the point now where a real, legit, ongoing bipartisan pro-democracy, pro-American opposition could emerge. It’s just clear now he doesn’t give a shit about the country - only himself, his money, his perception of his own power - and will keep doing extraordinary harm to all of us if he is not more aggressively challenged. The wreckage of this year of sabotage, plunder, idiocy, and betrayal is now strewn all across the Capital. It has become impossible even for Republicans to ignore. Consider: 1 - DC insidery media is full of stories today about Trump’s ebbing powers, disarray, growing recognition of the incredible hole they are now in. Just read this passage from Punchbowl this morning:
2 - Trump’s job approval in Fox News polling, the most widely seen of all their polls, has gone from 52%-46% in January to 41%-58% last week. This is a 23 point drop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at what has happened to Trump’s job approval in the right-wing propaganda cite Real Clear Politics. In late October Trump’s job approval was -6 (while it was -13 on FiftyPlusOne). Everything was fine in MAGA world. Now look where it is, -13. Everything is all of a sudden very not fine.
3 - The 2025 election was a blow out, and the longer everyone has had to look the worse it has become for Republicans. They are now having to spend money to defend a +22 Trump district in Tennessee, something that portends disaster for them in the mid-terms. Democrats have leads in recent state wide polls in Alaska, Iowa, Maine, North Carolina, and Ohio, and have been competitive in both Florida and Texas. The Republican hold on the Senate is all of a sudden not a given. In the first serious national poll looking at 2028 taken since the election Newsom leads Vance by 8 points, 54%-46%, yet another confirmation that the landscape has shifted between 8 and 12 points towards the Democrats since last year. Republicans are right to be alarmed by what they are seeing, and how hard it is going to be to make things better for them.
4 - A new now-MAGA-friendly CBS News poll released on Sunday has all sorts of deeply ominous stuff for Trump and the Rs. First, he is 40%-60% in job approval, down 8 points since September, and 26 points!!!!!! since February. Two thirds of the country is unhappy with his stewardship of the economy and he continues to be underwater on his signature issue, immigration:
Independents are deeply unsatisfied with his ongoing Epstein cover up:
But perhaps most ominously for Trump, support for military action in Venezuela is even more unpopular than this management of the economy, suggesting that if he does start wagging the dog this week - and trample all over our Thanksgivings - he and Republicans are going to pay a heavy price and end up even further away for an electorate that is in the process of giving up on them.

Imagine if by July 4th of next year a large number of towns, counties and states had passed formal resolutions, in the spirit of our Declaration of Independence, defending our Constitution and condemning the “injuries,” “abuses,” and “usurpations” of our mad king.
