Monday night, I wrote to you about the new DOJ memo that directs Civil Division lawyers and U.S. Attorneys’ Offices to “prioritize” denaturalizing naturalized American citizens in vaguely defined circumstances. The kind of policy that has, all too frequently, in this administration, been a prelude to depriving people of their rights. There is a lot of reason for concern. Today, I joined my friends at Fair Fight, the voting rights organization founded by Stacey Abrams, to discuss that situation in depth and celebrate the launch of their new Substack, Rights & Insights, which will help keep you informed about their work—the work of democracy and elections. It’s available for free. If you missed us live, you can click above to watch (or read the transcript of) my conversation with Fair Fight’s Amir Badat and Max Flugrath. In addition to denaturalization, we discuss steps you can take right now to take part in saving democracy. We’re in this together, Joyce You're currently a free subscriber to Civil Discourse with Joyce Vance . For the full experience, upgrade your subscription. |
