As part of our commemoration of Law Day here at Civil Discourse, I’ll be joined tonight, Thursday, by University of Michigan Law Professor Leah Litman, one of the cohosts of the Strict Scrutiny podcast. Leah is one of those constitutional law geniuses who explains complicated legal things so ordinary people can understand them. Our Substack Live will start at 8:30 p.m. ET. Law Day is a commemoration held annually on May 1st to celebrate the rule of law and cultivate a deeper understanding of the legal system. Normally, it’s the stuff of American Bar Association events, and locally, lawyers go out to speak to the communities and to school children about the rule of law. Usually, it passes with little fanfare beyond these events. This year, it will, or at least it should, take on greater significance. Lawyers across the country will be reaffirming their oath to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law. If you have questions you want us to discuss, leave a note in the comments. It’s simple to join us for Substack Live:
Come celebrate the rule of law with us. We’re in this together, Joyce
