Good Morning! On this day in 2001, terrorists hijacked four planes: terrorists hijacked four planes: two crashed into the World Trade Center’s twin towers, one struck the Pentagon, and one crashed in a Pennsylvania field. Nearly 3,000 people were killed, and the U.S. was changed forever.

Today, we’re marking 25 years since the attacks. This morning, families will stand at Ground Zero and read nearly 3,000 names aloud, one by one, honoring lives lost and grief carried for a quarter-century. Over New York Harbor this week, 2,977 lights rose in the shape of the Twin Towers, one for each life lost. We will never forget. Read more below.

America Marks 25 Years since 9/11

Twenty-five years after the Sept. 11 attacks, families gather at Ground Zero this morning to read aloud nearly 3,000 names, beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET.

For the first time, a seventh moment of silence honors the more than 9,000 people who have since died of illnesses linked to the World Trade Center site, nearly three times the toll of the day itself.

President Trump marks the day at the Pentagon, where he speaks at 9 a.m. ET ceremony. Vice President JD Vance represents the administration in New York, and Mayor Mamdani attends despite a petition against his presence.

At the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, the Bells of Remembrance will ring this morning, and a wreath will be laid at the Wall of Names this afternoon.

Iran Strikes Damage US Jets in Jordan

Iranian missiles fired Tuesday night in retaliation for U.S. strikes on its tankers damaged roughly eight F-15s and tore the wing off an A-10 attack jet at a U.S. base in Jordan, sources told the media. No Americans were killed.

Iran-backed Houthi rebels seized the Yemeni port of Mokha on Thursday, putting them within reach of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the Red Sea chokepoint Saudi Arabia now relies on to export oil.

President Trump told reporters Wednesday that "the war will end immediately after the election, because they can't hold out any longer," and said he is not seeking negotiations before the midterms.

Oil held above $100 a barrel Thursday, wholesale inflation rose to 5.4%, and the 30-year Treasury yield hit its highest since 2007. Analysts expect a Fed rate hike next week, and federal forecasters say Hormuz traffic stays constrained through year's end.

Meet Hugo, the World's Tallest Horse

A 4-year-old Shire horse named Hugo has entered the record books as the world's tallest living horse, standing 6 feet 6 inches at the shoulder, and his owner says he isn't done growing. See the photo of Hugo here.

A veterinarian measured Hugo three times for Guinness World Records, with his shoes removed, before the record was verified in December.

Owner Brett Masters says Hugo won't stop growing until about age 8, so he gets a chiropractor, massages, and twice-yearly dentist visits.

Co-owner Lisa Masters calls him "a big softie, like an oversized dog." The record comes with no prize money, and Brett Masters joked: "If any carrot farmer wants to give him some carrots, he'd kindly have them."
