| Hi All! Here is your weekly dose of 5-Bullet Friday, a list of what I'm pondering and exploring. I added a bonus bullet because it makes my eyebrows tingle. Tech trick that I'm loving"Forget Siri. Turn your iPhone's 'Action Button' into a ChatGPT voice assistant instead." Hat tip to Kevin Rose, who first showed me this shortcut. I now use it daily myself. Note that only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have an "action" button. Do you have a favorite way of using Shortcuts or the action button? Please let me know on Twitter (@tferriss) with #shortcuts! What I'm drinkingBrodo Bone Broth. Brodo was founded by Chef Marco Canora, who many will recognize from his extensive appearances in The 4-Hour Chef as one of my main teachers. Brodo has quickly become the most famous broth in NYC. The challenge for Marco has always been creating versions of his broths that (A) were shelf-stable, (B) met his high standards, and (C) didn't require refrigeration… which he finally nailed. My favorite flavors so far are his Tom Yum and Tuscan Sun, which are included in their sampler box. Though I haven't tried it yet, Marco offered that you can use a milk frother to buzz extra-virgin olive oil into Tuscan Sun and butter into Deeply Rooted to add calories and mouthfeel. For the Tom Yum, skip the added fat but squeeze in a dash of lime juice. For a little boost and nutritional insurance, I've really been enjoying one packet each morning. Confession: I do use the microwave instead of stove top. What I'm reading"You can't hoard life" by Oliver Burkeman, author of Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals. Hat tip to Chris Williamson for sending this to me. What I'm listening to"Wildcat" (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music) by Ratatat. What I'm excited aboutGlobal fan meetups! To celebrate the podcast's 10th anniversary, I am very excited to launch fan-hosted meetups on Thursday, April 25th, around the world! Now the ball is in your court… Would you like to host fellow fans of the show in your city? Nothing crazy required; any bar or venue that can handle a decent group could work. If so, apply to host here. Want to attend a meetup that someone else hosts? You can RSVP in your area even before a host is decided, so please express interest now! Quote I'm pondering"Over the long term, the future is decided by optimists." You can complement this edition of 5-Bullet Friday with one of my favorite chapters from Oliver Burkeman's book Four Thousand Weeks, the latest episode from The Tim Ferriss Experiment, and my most recent interview with Kevin Kelly on excellent advice for a living. |
