UC Faces Federal Research Audit
The University of Cincinnati is among 30 U.S. academic institutions ordered to audit their academic, financial, and research ties to foreign entities that the federal government considers security risks. The Department of War said the schools must review identified foreign collaborations, determine whether sensitive or export-controlled research is exposed, and adopt mitigation plans that could include ending problematic partnerships. Officials said the effort is designed to protect taxpayer-funded research from technology transfer, intellectual property theft, and exploitation by foreign adversaries. The 30-school list also includes Harvard, MIT, Duke, Penn State, Georgetown, and several University of California campuses. |
