So many of you told me you needed chicken pictures in the chat during our Substack Lives last week, that I asked my son Teddy to help out, while I got in one last week of summer in Maine. Teddy was nice enough to snap pictures of chickens, like Red, who seems to be eyeing him thoughtfully, for us tonight. He told me they weren’t in a very cooperative mood, though. There is a lot of molting going on right now in our little flock, and they’re all a bit bedraggled. Snacks, like popcorn, still seem to be welcome. And isn’t that true for us too? Snacks are always welcome. We all need a little treat right now, and we definitely deserve chickens tonight. A sweet friend pointed out this morning that as confident as we are, we’ll get through this fight our generation is in for the future of democracy; we really need our gardens, and our friends, and good times together more than ever right now. So make a little space for yourself this week and protect your happiness and your harmony. Take good care of yourself. There’s a lot of work ahead of us. Thank you for being here with me (and the chickens!) for it. We’re in this together, Joyce You're currently a free subscriber to Civil Discourse with Joyce Vance .
