Google ads are a uniquely interesting acquisition channel for one reason: search intent.
In essentially every other ad platform (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc), advertising is based on who someone is. Google, on the other hand, is based on what someone is doing.
The reason Google ads can be so effective is because there are potentially thousands of prospective customers searching for keywords related to your product, and you can pay to be one of the search results.
Google ads in general, but especially ads that target keywords with "software" in the search query, are high-intent searches. Instead of qualifying a lead based on who they are, you can qualify them by their actions. And the best time to sell to someone is when they're looking for something.
