Next Tuesday, April 21, I’m joining the folks behind the film The Librarians for a virtual screening and conversation. You may remember we had Kim Snyder, one of the producers, as a guest for Five Questions back in December. (No paywall, you can take a look here) and had a tremendous response. She gave us a sense of hope in a moment where we really needed it. The film explores the growing book banning crisis in American schools and the librarians who are fighting censorship. Snyder is a master documentarian. Her earlier documentaries include the provocative film Newtown, about the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The story that gets told in The Librarians is equally compelling. When Kim joined us, many of you wrote to ask how you could watch the film. Although you need tickets to join the virtual screening and our conversation on Tuesday, I’ve been given a 20% discount code to share with you if you’d like to join us.
