Next Tuesday, April 21, I’m joining the folks behind the film The Librarians for a virtual screening and conversation. You may remember we had Kim Snyder, one of the producers, as a guest for Five Questions back in December. (No paywall, you can take a look here) and had a tremendous response. She gave us a sense of hope in a moment where we really needed it.
The film explores the growing book banning crisis in American schools and the librarians who are fighting censorship. Snyder is a master documentarian. Her earlier documentaries include the provocative film Newtown, about the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The story that gets told in The Librarians is equally compelling.
