I’m a big fan of long, drawn out celebrations. Of birthdays that last for weeks, if not a month, instead of just a day or two. Because why not? So, I’ve taken Bob away, to get his birthday celebration started! Since it’s Easter and Passover together I’ve got lamb shanks simmering for dinner tomorrow night and we plan to spend this evening with friends, enjoying this gorgeous Maine view and some good wine. A little break and some happiness go a long way right now, when the news is a crush and so much of it is difficult to take. I’ll be back tomorrow with a catch up on a few developments we didn’t have time to cover last week, and a look at the week ahead. But I have one other pretty thing to share with you tonight. Bob was patiently permitting me to look at every single skein of yarn in a new knitting shop in Bath, Maine this morning, when I saw it. In 2019, I was visiting our daughter in New York, and she scored tickets for us to see the Hilda AF Klimt exhibit at the Guggenheim. I was unfamiliar with Klimt, but was immediately won over by the huge scale and beauty of her pieces. The exhibit made a lasting impression. Ellie and I were just talking about it yesterday—our favorite exhibit we’ve seen together. Suddenly, there was this print, right in front of me, like magic. Whether it’s holidays, birthdays, or just the joy of pretty spring days, I hope you find a little beauty to celebrate this weekend, too.
