Skye Perryman is the President and CEO of Democracy Forward, a nonpartisan, national legal organization that promotes democracy through litigation and other means. Named one of the Time 100’s 100 Most Influential People of 2025, and one of the Most Powerful Women by Washingtonian Magazine, she joins us tonight for Five Questions. Skye has a track record of winning tough legal and policy battles, uniting diverse coalitions, inspiring the American public, and elevating voices that represent the fabric of our country to deliver results that improve the lives of millions. She understands the need to both protect democracy and educate the public about it, and she’s a fierce advocate for restoring the Justice Department. She is from Texas and attended Baylor as an undergraduate, so she has a sense of how “Red America” is reacting in this moment. “Five Questions” is a periodic feature for paid subscribers, my way of thanking those who are able to support this work so that I can devote the necessary time and resources to it.
