I impromptu took tonight off to have fondue with good friends who I don’t get to see nearly often enough (the silver lining to a little travel kerfuffle), and was reminded of the joy that comes from being with the people who see you and love you for who you are—wrinkles and all. There was also dessert. I no longer take these small moments for granted. I am learning to savor them. I know that the work will still be there tomorrow and that taking time off now and then to recharge is one of the most important things we can do. But this means there will be a lot to catch up on tomorrow, so make some time for yourself tonight, too. And I have a favor to ask. I won’t make it home until late Friday, which doesn’t leave me with much time to make my sign for the No Kings March. I’d love it if you’d share your ideas, to inspire me to come up with a plan.
