| Today's newsletter is proudly supported by Dofollow 🎉 In an era where content creation is easier than ever, content authority is the key to ranking high and maximizing SEO. And despite what the Threadbois will tell you, backlinks are still king. That's why I'm excited to partner with Dofollow as my go-to recommendation for sourcing high-quality backlinks. Going from the bottom of page 1 to the top can be the difference of thousands of dollars in MRR. And with so many shady SEO practitioners out there, I'm glad to have a trustworthy team I can confidently recommend. Make sure to mention "Corey" or "Swipe Files."

Idea 💡
Create awards to draw attention to your brand.
There's no denying it: People love receiving awards. They'll put a badge on their site, shout it from the social media rooftops, and brag to their neighbors about them.
And some companies capitalize on this fact by creating and distributing awards themselves.
Examples 🔍
G2's "Best Tech Cities"
In an effort to build new backlinks, G2 theorized that they could create pillar page-type reports on 25 American tech hubs and 10 countries that used customer review data.
And it worked! Not only did they get tens of thousands of impressions, the campaign resulted in over 350 new backlinks.
Silicon Alley Awards
Jason Calacanis wasn't always the self-proclaimed "greatest angel investor of all-time." In fact, to gain attention and make a name for himself and his media company, Jason started the Silicon Alley Awards.
The strategy goes as following: Figure out who has the biggest following and influence, put some at the top to boost their ego and share, put some at the bottom to create controversy and outrage, and then sit back and watch it go viral.
Drift's Top Conversational Marketers
Talk about name-dropping... Drift released many exclusive lists for several marketing categories. But the best of them all is a list of the top 50 conversational marketers.
I don't think they just pulled names out of the hat for this one, but it's certainly more of a marketing ploy than a legitimate. Nonetheless, people love it and it's a great way to gain exposure.
