Hey there,
You're officially in for the 5-Day Values Mini-Course.
Over the next 5 days, you'll receive one mini-lesson and action prompt per day, right here in your email inbox, all with one goal in mind:
Clarifying and understanding why values matter so much, and what yours really are.
Values are possibly the most important component of stable mental health and sustained happiness. Because values help us define what's important.
When we lack clarity on what's important, or feel as though we are constantly being forced to split attention between what's important, then we feel stuck—as though movement in any direction leads to the same place: drowning in overwhelm—where every option can seem both life-and-death important and completely meaningless—all at once.
This not only makes decision-making and prioritizing almost impossible, but it can leave us feeling lost and aimless. Which is how we end up committing to relationships, jobs, or projects that aren't quite "right"—and then wondering why we feel drained or unsatisfied.
But when you know better, you can choose better.
That's why I created this 5-Day Values Mini-Course to pair with the Values, Solved episode of my podcast.
As you'll learn over our 5 days together, there are a multitude of ways to determine, choose, and live by the right set of values for you.
YOUR FIRST MINI-LESSON
What are values, anyway?
Values are, by definition, "a belief that something is good or desirable and worth striving for, regardless of context or circumstance."
Values are not the same as needs or preferences—but they do influence our preferences and help us get our needs met.
Values are the ultimate answer to the question:
"What's really worth giving a f*ck about?"
We'll go into more detail tomorrow, and if you're itching to jump in ASAP you can start listening to the Values, Solved podcast right now, right here.
Your Day 1 mini-lesson and prompt will arrive tomorrow.
If you don't receive it, check spam, promotions, and other folders just to be sure the email is landing in the right place, and make sure to add my email address (mark@markmanson.net) to your contacts so you don't miss any important emails.
Until tomorrow,
Mark
