Most of you already know Andy Borowitz, of The Borowitz Report. If you don’t, you probably should. His recent posts have titles like, Trump Replaces Asshole with Alternate Asshole and Zelenskyy Suggests Trump Give Florida to Russia. He is a writer and comedian, best known for his satire. He explains his newsletter like this, “In 2012 The Borowitz Report moved to The New Yorker, which published it for the next eleven years. The column acquired readers around the world, including in the Chinese media, who believed a story I published about Donald Trump wrapping the White House’s phones in tinfoil.” As a longtime fan of his work, I’m so excited that he picked my book, Giving Up Is Unforgivable: A Manual For Keeping A Democracy, as his first TBR Bookclub pick for 2026. I’m just hoping I’ll feel that way after we do “Ask Me Anything,” which we’re taping on Wednesday, and which Andy will send out over the weekend. Will I have answers for all of his questions? Am I too boring to hang out with someone as funny as Andy? I guess we’ll find out. If you’re a paid subscriber to The Borowitz Report, you’re automatically a member of Andy’s book club. If you’re not, consider this a little heads up so you can join in time. We’re in this together, Joyce You're currently a free subscriber to Civil Discourse with Joyce Vance .
