Car Auction Recap, Slower Population Gains, and Route 66 Centennial

FINAL HOURS! The Flyover Investment Round Closes Tomorrow

A few months ago, we set out on a mission: to offer ownership opportunities to our readers—now more than 4 million strong. You are one of those readers and we are incredibly grateful. Without you, we wouldn't be the company we are today.

But here's the deal: we only have hours left.

If you've been watching from the sidelines, now is the moment to step in and be one of the final investors in The Flyover. Together, we can finish strong.

Invest in The Flyover today

With only hours left, we want to answer one final question we hear most often from readers and potential investors:

How do I get a return on my investment?

We believe in being direct.

Like all investments, this carries risk. But here's what makes The Flyover different: we have already reached profitability after just two years. That puts The Flyover in a very small group of media startups, many of which never reach profitability at all.

There are three primary ways investors may realize a return:

1️⃣ A Sale
A larger media company or strategic partner could acquire The Flyover. If that day comes, we'd only consider partners who respect our values and our readers.

2️⃣ A Public Listing
While we're private today, a future public listing would give investors the ability to buy and sell shares on an open market.

3️⃣ Profit Distributions (Dividends)
Because The Flyover is already profitable, unlike most startups, distributions are a real possibility as the business continues to grow.

To recap:
1. Sale. 2. Listing. 3. Distributions.

Now, the most important part.

This investment round closes tomorrow. Not days. Hours.

Once it closes, it's closed.

If you've been considering investing; if you've been watching from the sidelines, this is your final opportunity to join us as an owner of The Flyover.

Final hours. Final spots. This is it.

The 2026 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale car auction wrapped this week, with the non-charity portion topped by the sale of a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupe for $2.53 million.

The highest overall sale was for charity: a 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X Stars & Steel Limited Edition that fetched $2.6 million.

The eight-day auction drew roughly 6,500 bidders and included celebrity-owned cars such as Kevin Hart's 2024 custom Ford Bronco ($260,000) and Jennifer Aniston's former 2010 Range Rover ($32,000).

Modern hypercars and mid-century classics also drew top bids. You can see the top 10 non-charity sellers here.

Federal raids at Valley area Zipps Sports Grills on Monday led to more than 35 arrests for suspected employment of illegal immigrants, identity theft, and document fraud.

Led by Homeland Security investigators with support from Maricopa County police and U.S. Border Patrol agents, the raids targeted 14 Zipps locations around the Valley and Goldie's Sports Cafe in Scottsdale.

Several Zipps locations reopened as of Thursday, and the company said it hopes to resume operations at the remaining sites by the end of the week.

Arizona was among the top U.S. states for population growth last year, even as gains slowed in the state and nationally due largely to a drop in immigration.

Arizona's population grew by 67,394 to 7.62 million people, ranking No. 7 for numeric growth and No. 8 for percentage growth, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates for the 12 months ending in July 2025.

A separate report by U-Haul showed slightly more inbound than outbound moves in Arizona, keeping the state in the moving company's top 10 growth states for six years running.

Growing areas include Phoenix, Tucson, Prescott Valley, and several other cities, driven by new housing, an influx of tech jobs, and families attracted by the weather and low taxes.
