In our family, Christmas Eve is one of those times we’re able to get together with friends who are so close they’re family, and in recent years, it has become my tradition to make Cassoulet, which sounds a lot more difficult than it actually is, but takes a while to put together. I’m recuperating today and enjoying time with friends and family—I hope you are too. So I’m leaving you with Christmas greetings from the chickens, who are having quite the smorgasbord this morning. Omeleta never misses a meal. This is our dainty girl, Esther, who likes to take one lettuce leaf at a time away from the picnic table and munch on it before returning for more. We didn’t have a lot of cucumbers today, but Leeda managed to corner the market on most of them. Pickles, surrounded by salad. Hope your day is fun, silly, and meaningful in equal measures.
