I had flown to Colorado because I knew this was not only my one opportunity to see Aspen but also my one opportunity to see an institute. As we approached the house, I knew right away that it was expensive. But I didn’t think that, two decades later, it would be put on the market for $300 million, the most anyone has ever listed a house for in the U.S. I mean, we walked in without any staff announcing us.
