When I was told that we were going to a party, I didn’t ask the obvious question: “Is it at the most expensive house in America?”
Instead, I took a short walk from downtown with my old boss from Time magazine, Walter Isaacson, who had recently become head of the Aspen Institute. I had flown to Colorado because I knew this was not only my one opportunity to see Aspen but also my one opportunity to see an institute.
