I've often mused that there are (broadly) two ways to improve your life: - Add a Positive: A good habit, behavior, person, etc.
- Remove a Negative: A bad habit, behavior, person, etc.
An important observation: Most of us automatically default to the former and ignore the latter. We're conditioned to believe that progress means doing more. New habits. New routines. New mindsets. New people. New goals. But here's the truth: The simplest, fastest path to progress isn't addition. It's subtraction... (read the full piece here) Wednesday: The Most Important Choice of Life Last week, I had a beautiful conversation with a young mother who reached out wanting to talk to me about her son. The young boy, just four years old, has shown signs of being neurodivergent. His mother courageously expressed to me her fear that he might not be able to thrive in the way that all parents hope for. As a father to a young boy of similar age, the conversation hit me hard. And while I could not speak to any of the ongoing research in the field, I did share an impactful story and message that I wanted her to hear... (read the full piece here) Friday: Kidlin's Law: The Shortcut to Clarity Albert Einstein was once famously asked how he would approach a challenging problem if given one hour to solve it. His response: "I would spend 55 minutes defining the problem and 5 minutes solving it." It's an interesting answer. Most of us assume that problem-solving is about…well…solving. But Einstein's response highlights an important reality: Effective problem-solving is often enabled by problem-defining. This is at the heart of an idea called Kidlin's Law: "If you can write down a problem clearly, you've already solved half of it." Writing changes everything.
