Last week, in the middle of implementing a military occupation of the nation’s capital and trying to carve up Ukraine with his buddy Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump took a detour down one of his favorite rabbit holes. Trump posted the following screed on Truth Social:

It pains me to say this, but from a purely political perspective, what Donald Trump pulled off in 2024 is impressive; though his margins nationally and in the battleground states were much narrower than what he and the prevailing media narrative is pushing. It gets even dumber. Trump’s renewed interest in banning mail-in voting came after a conversation with Vladimir Putin. Trump told Sean Hannity that Putin said he knew the 2020 election was rigged because the U.S. uses mail-in balloting. Because, of course, Putin the kleptocrat is the leading expert on how to run an honest democracy. It’s impossible to overstate the stupidity at play.
