And don't miss the special note below from Cole, our CEO! | | | Supreme Court Rules Against Planned Parenthood The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that states can block Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood, a victory for Republicans who have sought to defund the nonprofit group. The 6-3 decision, with the court's three liberal justices dissenting, ruled for South Carolina over its effort to defund Planned Parenthood, concluding that individual Medicaid patients can't sue under federal civil rights laws to enforce their right to pick a medical provider. South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster had been pushing to block public health dollars from going to Planned Parenthood. Lower courts had ruled in favor of a patient at Planned Parenthood South Atlantic who argued that blocking the funds violated her rights under the Medicaid Act.
The Court ruled otherwise, saying patients didn't have the right to sue to see the provider they preferred. | Pan Am Returns with $60K Trip Pan Am, the iconic American airline that operated from 1927 to 1991, is making a comeback with a luxury charter flight experience in 2025. Learn more on their website. | TV's Bill Moyers Dies at 91 Bill Moyers, former White House press secretary under President Lyndon Johnson and longtime public television journalist, died Thursday at age 91 from prostate cancer. Moyers served in Johnson’s administration from the Senate to the West Wing, later hosting a number of public affairs shows on PBS. His programs often focused on politics, health, and religion, and he was known for his interview series with mythologist Joseph Campbell.
