Bob’s pawternity leave is almost at an end, and I have a feeling she may end up going along to work with him once he’s back. There is a lot of legal news right now, so much of it that it can be hard to know where to focus. I’ll be back tomorrow night. In the meantime, if you haven’t seen it, one of Trump’s recent executive orders, ironically titled “PRESERVING AND PROTECTING THE INTEGRITY OF AMERICAN ELECTIONS” is a real rollback of voting rights and something you should take a moment to read. Expect the legal challenges to this order to start imminently. We will be discussing them in detail—this bald effort to keep people Republicans think won’t vote for them from voting is yet another measure of how anti-democracy this administration is. The executive order puts comments Trump made last July into a stark context. Trump’s spokesman claimed at the time “was talking about uniting this country.” Apparently, he wasn’t kidding when he told a Christian gathering in West Palm Beach, Florida, that the 2024 election was the last election they’d ever have to vote in if he won. At the time, Rep.
