I had plans to write about some of the legal issues that surfaced today, this evening. Trump filed a pre-motion letter indicating his intention to file a motion to recuse Judge Merchan ahead of the trial that is scheduled to start in Manhattan on April 15. This is his second one and the DA was quick to respond and say there was nothing new here and the Judge should summarily dismiss Trump’s motion without further argument (or delay), but I had plans to tease out some of the legal arguments

This is his second one and the DA was quick to respond and say there was nothing new here and the Judge should summarily dismiss Trump’s motion without further argument (or delay), but I had plans to tease out some of the legal arguments However, we’ve got thunderstorm and tornado warnings tonight so before I get to work, I wanted to send a quick message to let you know we are all safely tucked in, including the chickens. If you don’t hear from me later, it will mean our power or internet has gone out or that the big baby of a German Shepherd who demanded a Pup Cup earlier today has taken up residence in my lap—she’s terrible about storms. I made the chickens a fruit salad this afternoon and gave them some special treats before I tucked the into the coop early. I’m hoping there won’t be any damage in our garden, where everything is stunningly early-spring lovely right now. The next picture is actually from yesterday. Bella and Tofu have become best friends and she seems to have taught him the chickens are friends, not food. I’m very grateful. Hopefully the storm warnings will be much ado about nothing and I’ll be back later tonight with all the good legal stuff. If not, it may be tomorrow morning. Here’s my top line on Trump’s eleventh hour effort to recuse the Judge until then. Please stay safe if you’re in the storm’s path!
