Voters filed a petition on Thursday with Florida's Supreme Court challenging Gov. Ron DeSantis' push for redistricting in Florida.

"Gov. DeSantis exceeded his constitutional authority by usurping a core legislative responsibility in service of his desire to enact a mid-decade gerrymander," said Marina Jenkins, executive director of the National Redistricting Foundation.

In January, DeSantis set a special session on Congressional redistricting for April 20-24.

Florida has been seen as a key piece of the national push by Republicans to overhaul congressional districts ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

On Thursday, Gov. Ron DeSantis and other Florida officials released results from new independent tests showing traces of glyphosate, a widely used weed killer, in several popular bread products.

Glyphosate exposure "doesn't seem to have a safe level... There's an alternative to poisoning people," said Dr. Joseph Ladapo, Florida's surgeon general.

Glyphosate was found in various breads, including Nature's Own Butter Bread, Nature's Own Perfectly Crafted White, Dave's Killer Bread White Done Right, Dave's Killer Bread 21 Whole Grain, Wonder Bread Classic White, and Sara Lee Honey Wheat.
