When I saw this picture—that’s me getting ready to do a TV hit—I began to suspect we are probably all at the point where we need a little break. It was after 10 p.m., I looked exactly how you’d expect yourself to look after the kind of weeks we’ve been experiencing. And I’ve been getting a lot of emails and comments on social media asking where the chickens are and how they’re doing. As crazy as it seems, I’ve been too busy to snap pictures of them lately. So, yesterday morning, I spent extra time hanging out with chickens even though it was C-O-L-D outside. And I got rewarded with these charming pictures that I hope you’ll like too. This is the always charming Pickles. It’s pretty barren out there right now, but Esther is one of our smartest chickens and she always manages to come up with something tasty to eat. She found red worms. The other chickens aren’t as resourceful as Esther. But no chicken can withstand the charms of the picnic table, even when it’s only pumpkin seeds. (I promised them croissants next time). Hope this is the moment of zen that you needed! Earlier this week at an Indivisible Charlotte event, one of the hosts told me she and her friends have an “Agenda of Joy” that they pursue. I was intrigued.
