Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Democrat U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett are leading their respective Senate primary races, according to a University of Houston poll released Monday. Recent polling indicated the contests were neck-and-neck.

Paxton leads incumbent U.S. Sen. John Cornyn 38% to 31% in a survey of 550 likely Republican voters, with U.S. Rep. Wesley Hunt of Houston earning 17% support. If the contest goes to a runoff, Paxton is favored among all demographics except for Latinos, who back Cornyn by 7%.

Meanwhile, Crockett leads State Rep. James Talarico of Round Rock by 8% with 47% support among 550 likely Democrat voters. Overall, 92% of respondents said they knew enough about Crockett to form an opinion, compared with 85% for Talarico.

In each hypothetical general election matchup, the Republican held an edge between 1% to 4% over the Democrat. Early voting for the March 3 primary starts next Tuesday.

Texans played prominent roles during Super Bowl LX on Sunday, both on and off the field.

A dozen or so players who attended high school or college in Texas saw action during the contest, including Seahawks wide receiver and Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez.

Country singer Post Malone and comedian Shane Gillis starred in a Bud Light commercial with Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, and actor Matthew McConaughey appeared in an Uber Eats ad. Actors Jim Parsons, Nicholas Gonzalez, and Owen Wilson did commercials for H-E-B, e.l.f. Cosmetics, and Telemundo.

Several Texas-based companies also aired commercials during the big game, including H-E-B, Southwest Airlines, Frito-Lay, and Tree Hut, a cosmetics brand based in Coppell. Dallas-based agency Lerna produced a commercial for the He Gets Us ad campaign.

Gabriela Ebel, a graduate of Homer Hanna High School in Brownsville, performed as a dancer during Bad Bunny's halftime show.

A new $25 million pedestrian bridge across Lady Bird Lake in Austin opened Saturday after a year and a half of construction.

The Y-shaped Wishbone Bridge, located east of I-35 near the Longhorn Dam, completes the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail's 10-mile loop around the lake. Its central plaza features maraca-shaped benches, bike racks, shade structures, and greenery.

The project, which was funded by the city's 2020 mobility bond and a federal grant, also replaced "the creepy tunnel" under Pleasant Valley Road with the expanded Unity Underpass, which has been decorated by more than 200 local artists.

"Crossing some of these busy streets can be a little dangerous sometimes, and I think for the runners and bikers, it's fantastic," said local runner Eric Tamayo.

Scammers don't guess—they look you up

Most scams don't start with malware—they start with public data. Addresses, phone numbers, and relatives are often obtained from data brokers and people search sites. That's why scam calls can sound calm, specific, and legitimate.

Incogni helps reduce this exposure by removing personal data from these sources and monitoring for re-listing. When less of your information is easy to find, impersonation gets much harder.
