| Arellano Named State GOP Chair Sergio Arellano was elected chairman of the Arizona Republican Party at the party's annual meeting Saturday in Prescott Valley. A Tucson native, U.S. Army combat veteran, and longtime campaign aide for President Trump, Arellano will lead the party's voter outreach and fundraising initiatives. Arellano, who takes over after Gina Swoboda resigned to run for Congress, emerged victorious in a runoff against former party vice chair Pam Kirby.
"We led this race with God in front, always first. I hope to achieve victory alongside you because I am one of you. (I am) one from the grassroots that is now ready to come in, knock some doors, raise some money, and kick some butt for all of us," Arellano said. | Police: Teen Led Car Theft Ring A 19-year-old was arrested and identified as the ringleader of a luxury auto theft ring in the East Valley.
Lorenzo Mangiamele allegedly coordinated the theft of multiple expensive, keyless vehicles across Gilbert, Mesa, and nearby communities.
The operation targeted high-end vehicles, using co-conspirators to drive them and electronic devices to bypass security. Police haven't released a full list of the cars.
Police said the case highlights an ongoing problem of organized auto thefts in the Valley, including a 2024 ring that stole 20 trucks valued at over $1 million. | Drone Delivery Options to Expand Phoenix residents can soon get food, retail, and healthcare deliveries via drones from Zipline, following the company's $600 million fundraising for a Valley expansion. Already operating in parts of Arkansas, Texas, and Africa, Zipline has completed more than 2 million deliveries on behalf of retailers such as Walmart, Chipotle, and Panera Bread. The company's insulated drones keep packages hot or cold and can land at customer-specified locations, delivering orders weighing up to 8 pounds in as little as 10 minutes. Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego called the expansion a sign of the city's growing role as a hub for advanced technology and autonomous systems. | |
