Why I Want The Flyover Readers to Own The Flyover
When I decided to accept investors in The Flyover, one thing mattered to me more than anything: that our readers would have the chance to become our owners. If I had my druthers, every single investor in The Flyover would be a Flyover reader. That's why we've structured this offering with you in mind: Legally, the offering is open to any U.S. citizen. But my heart—and our strategy—are focused on keeping ownership in the hands of our readers. Right now, we're less than $84,000 away from hitting $4 million raised—80% full. Once we cross that mark and announce our final investment date, I expect the final 20% to be filled. That's why I'm asking our readers one more time: will you consider investing in The Flyover today? This is the final month to invest. But some of our readers are asking: "How do I get a return on my investment?" Here's why The Flyover is different: -
Already profitable after just two years (most start-ups never are) -
80% gross margins and 24% net income (exceptional margins) -
In the top 1% of media start-ups (proven strength) How investors could realize returns: -
A Sale—Only to a partner who shares our values. (CNN or The New York Times need not apply.) -
Public Listing—Shares traded openly on an exchange. -
Profit Distributions (Dividends)—Because we're already profitable, this is possible. Recap: Sale. Listing. Distributions. My Closing Pitch More than 2,600 Flyover readers have already joined us as investors. We're just $84,000 away from our next milestone—and once we hit it, we will announce our closing date. If you've been considering investing, now is the moment. Will you help us finish this round and together make The Flyover a news company truly owned by its readers? Will you be one of the final investors who helps us keep The Flyover fully reader-owned? Invest in The Flyover Today | | | Supreme Court Rejects ABA Control The Florida Supreme Court ruled last week to amend a rule that previously made the American Bar Association (ABA) "the sole accrediting agency for law schools whose graduates are eligible to sit for this state's General Bar Examination." Florida joins Texas in ending the ABA's role as its sole accreditor for law schools. The court said that relying exclusively on the ABA is no longer in Floridians' best interest, opening the door for alternative accrediting entities to begin operating starting Oct. 1. Gov. Ron DeSantis has urged the state to break with the ABA, calling it a left-wing organization undeserving of its role as the "arbiter of legal education." Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier accused the ABA of discriminating against Catholic law schools. The 5-1 decision cited concerns about gatekeeping power. Justice Jorge Labarga dissented, warning that the court is abandoning an established, experienced accreditor in favor of an unknown alternative. | Ringling Museum Celebrates Silver Jubilee The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida's official art museum, is marking its Silver Jubilee of sharing stewardship with Florida State University. The 25-year partnership has generated major restoration and expansion, as well as record public engagement, making Ringling one of the largest university-based art museums in the U.S. Since the shared stewardship began, the museum has added 12,500 works to its collection, while growing its endowment from $4 million to $65 million. The Ca' d'Zan, the Ringlings' historic mansion, was also fully restored in a $15 million effort. Ringling Bros. World's Greatest Shows was founded in Baraboo, Wisconsin, in 1884 by five of seven brothers. One of the brothers, John Ringling, married Mable Burton, and together they became investors, art collectors, and patrons. Their shared passion led to the creation of the museum. | Hurricanes Play for CFP Championship Miami will try to end a 24-year national title drought tonight at home against No. 1 Indiana in the College Football Playoff National Championship.
The 10th-seeded Hurricanes reached the championship game by beating No. 7 seed Texas A&M on the road, then defeating No. 2 Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl and No. 6 Ole Miss in the Fiesta Bowl.
Miami's veteran quarterback Carson Beck threw for 268 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the semifinal against Ole Miss before scrambling for the game-winning touchdown with 18 seconds left.
Unbeaten Indiana routed No. 9 seed Alabama 38-3 in the Rose Bowl and Big Ten foe Oregon 56-22 in the Peach Bowl. The Hoosiers are seeking their first national championship.
Tonight's game will be played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens and televised on ESPN. Indiana is an 8.5-point favorite. | | | Flying together with our sponsor | | | | ➤ Panhandle: Snow fell in Florida on Sunday, blanketing the medians along I-10 with 1 to 2 inches.
