D-Day Hero Gets Long-Awaited Medal

At 100 years old, British Royal Marine veteran Don Butt has been awarded France's Légion d'honneur, more than 80 years after landing on Juno Beach in the first wave of the 1944 invasion of Normandy.

Don, who helped land troops under heavy fire, believed for decades he was too young to qualify for the medal.

With help from a fellow marine, his application was approved just in time to fulfill what he called his "final wish." The medal was presented in an emotional ceremony by the Royal Marines.

Grandma Wins Mansion in Charity Draw

Nicola Dickinson, 59, won a $6 million mansion in England's Lake District after ignoring her husband's advice to stop entering an online charity raffle run by Omaze.

After entering for four years, she landed a fully furnished, mortgage-free home with a private lake, luxury kitchen, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a wellness area featuring a sauna and hot tub. Omaze also awarded her over $300,000 in cash to help settle in.

Father-Daughter Duo Fights Fires Together

A 14-year-old from Pennsylvania is now the youngest female firefighter at Garden Spot Fire Rescue, and she's serving alongside her dad.

Briella Neidermyer recently joined the station as a junior firefighter, following in the footsteps of her father, Kirk, a volunteer of 25 years.

She trains regularly, helps on calls where allowed, and says she wants to be seen as confident and capable on the job.
