Police said that during the game, the umpire gave a verbal warning to the coach of one of the teams. Following the warning, the umpire's father was pushed and then punched by the father of one of the players. Seeing his father attacked, the umpire left the field in an attempt to separate the two men. The umpire was punched from behind and knocked to the ground as the dugout of the team that had been warned emptied out to join the fight. One person was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for his injuries. His father did not require medical attention. Two adults and one 17-year-old player were charged with battery, and the adults were taken to the Polk County jail. | New Cancer Therapy Arrives in Jacksonville The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville will host the first carbon ion therapy program in the U.S. and the Western Hemisphere.
