Sports Gambling Probe Hits Home

Youngstown native and Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and former Cleveland Cavaliers player and assistant coach Damon Jones were arrested in connection with an FBI investigation into illegal gambling schemes.

Rozier is accused of taking part in a scheme in which gamblers used nonpublic information to bet on at least seven NBA games. In three of those, players allegedly exited games intentionally to benefit bettors.

In a separate but related case, Jones and Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups were accused of steering people to rigged poker games run by the Mafia, also known as La Cosa Nostra.

Jones, an assistant coach on the Cavaliers' 2016 championship team, was among three people named as defendants in both cases.

Husted, Brown Haul In Millions

U.S. Sen. Jon Husted raised $3.7 million in the third quarter, a Republican record for this stage of an Ohio U.S. Senate race.

Husted faces Democratic Party challenges from former U.S. senator Sherrod Brown, who has raised $8 million since launching his comeback bid in August, and Fred Ode, a Lorain County entrepreneur.

Brown lost his senate seat in 2024 to U.S. Sen. Bernie Moreno.

The 2026 special election will determine who fills the seat for the remainder of Vice President Vance's initial term. The seat will be up for election again in 2028.

Buckeyes Band Together

The Ohio State football team welcomed The Ohio State University Marching Band on Wednesday.

Players and coaches carried instruments and marched with band members. Starting quarterback Julian Sayin conducted Across the Field, one of the school's fight songs. Watch Sayin's performance here.

The team hosts a visit from the band each year, usually during the week before the team's Michigan game. This year, the visit was moved up to an off-week.
