| Evidence Retested in JonBenét Ramsey Case The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is retesting dozens of items from the unsolved 1996 murder of 6-year-old JonBenét Ramsey, a nationally known Colorado cold case. The items include previously untested clues and old evidence now eligible for analysis thanks to breakthroughs in DNA technology, according to John Andrew Ramsey, JonBenét's older brother. John Ramsey, JonBenét's father, appeared over the weekend at CrimeCon in Aurora, where he said he's "more hopeful" than ever about solving the murder. He also announced a petition to align state law with a federal cold-case review act and suggested that President Trump's intervention could be key to advancing further testing. | Denver November Ballot Certified Denver's Nov. 4 ballot has been certified and will ask voters to consider Mayor Mike Johnston's $950 million bond package alongside a ban on flavored tobacco. The Vibrant Denver Bond package, split into five issues on the ballot, would fund roughly 60 projects to improve infrastructure and parks and recreation around the city. If approved, the city would take on $950 million in debt. Referendum 310 is a measure to overturn Denver's 2024 ban on flavored tobacco products. An industry-led coalition gathered over 17,000 signatures to put the issue before voters. Ballots will be mailed to Denverites on Oct. 10. In-person voting service will begin on Oct. 27. | Summer Snow Dusts Pikes Peak Snow fell at high elevations in Colorado's central and southern mountains early Friday, blanketing rocks and walkways at the summit of Pikes Peak. See photos here. America's Mountain is no stranger to summer snow. Earlier this year, a June snowstorm dumped enough to require plows, while in 2022, the fourteener saw its first snow of the season in August. While late summer snow is common in Colorado's high country, these early dustings tend to melt in just a few hours. | |
