Happy Thursday all. It’s the LAST day of the Republican Convention. Welcome our many new subscribers. Got a few things for all of you today:

In my post yesterday, Voters in Europe, The UK and France Just Denied The Far Right Power. It’s Our Turn Now, I offered my latest thinking (including a video) about the 2024 election, recent polling and the debate around whether Biden should continue or pass the torch. I stand by what I wrote yesterday - this remains a close, competitive election. The polling has been remarkably stable for weeks now. Biden is at 276 Electoral College Votes in the 538 forecast this morning. Will the GOP Convention change things? We will see. And yes there was a new Emerson poll of the states that was not good for us today but it is deeply inconsistent with the dozens of polls we’ve seen in the last two weeks which have shown little movement in the race. I still believe that this election is winnable for us, that we can flip the House and keep the Senate but we are not where we want to be today and have work to do. It is critical that we do not let commentators red wave this election again, and for us to just keep our heads down and keep doing the work.

I will open it with 15-20 minutes of my take on the national political landscape and then take your questions. Even though I have upped the number of Zoom attendees for the remainder of the election this event is likely to fill up so register as soon as you can. With Hopium’s Help, House Dems Have A Very Big Fundraising Quarter - Here is a note I got from the DCCC this morning. Frontline Democrats are our incumbents in competitive districts. Red to Blue are our open seat and challenger races. It is all very, very encouraging stuff:
In all corners of the country, DCCC Frontline and Red to Blue candidates are dominating the fundraising race.
In the most recent quarter, both Democratic incumbents and challengers outraised their Republican opponents by an average of more than $450,000.
Diving into the math, Frontline Democrats resoundingly beat Republican challengers by an average of more than $600,000 in Q2. These same Democratic Frontliners have an average of $2.7 million cash-on-hand, which is an average of nearly five times more than their Republican opponents.
Democratic challengers are also winning the cash race against vulnerable House Republicans. Candidates on the DCCC’s Red to Blue program outraised their Republican opponent by an average of more than $435,000 in Q2. The fundraising surge by Red to Blue members is positioning them to overtake their incumbent Republicans opponents in cash-on-hand.
And yesterday, the DCCC announced that it outraised the NRCC by $7 million in the second quarter and $5.4 million the month of June.

“The American people are putting their trust and resources behind House Democrats as they continue to see extreme MAGA Republicans embrace Trump’s Project 2025. Voters are poised to elect a Democratic majority this fall to get the House back to work.”
Our community has raised almost $600,000 for our 12 House candidates, or about $50,000 each, in the six weeks since we began our Winning The House campaign. Thanks to all of you who helped contribute to the incredibly strong fundraising quarter. Let’s keep working it and make sure this quarter is just as impressive.

Making July Count/We Cannot Let Up/Do More and Worry Less - Friends, we just did a remarkable job together here making June count. In five weeks from late May to June 30th we raised over $1m for our candidates and party committees. Many of you have been out there hustling for candidates, writing postcards, canvassing, calling and texting. We launched our Winning the House campaign which brought in almost $600,000 for our 12 Hopium-endorsed candidates with the best opportunity to flip seats and help us take back the House. We added the blue dot in Nebraska to our “checkmate” state strategy, one designed to get us to 270 electoral college votes and win the election. We raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Biden-Harris, including more than $100,000 in the days after the debate. When called once again the Hopium community answered. That’s why we’ve launched a new campaign to “Make July Count” with new July 31st fundraising goals.
We cannot let up now, not for a moment. We are deep into the 2024 election and while it is summer, and we are not all on same page today, we cannot stop working to make the election everything we want it to be. So please do something this week to support this new campaign, and be on the look out for many more interviews of our endorsed House candidates in the coming days. Trying to get the remaining eight done by our Convention.
